Once upon a time, I was younger, healthier and undertook projects like this. These are two murals I painted 14 years ago on my front porch. Taken from photos in magazines, I used ordinary tempera paints that have held up rather well. That bird is not painted by the way; it's one of those that "fly" when you pull a string underneath.
An older neighbor told me there were windows on these two walls years ago. They were covered over (or taken out) when the house was sided, probably in the 60s or energy conscious 70s.
The real views on the other sides of these walls look nothing like what I painted. Kind of a nice escape.
Have a fanciful day!
Good for you! That's quite the project and a wonderful outcome. I painted murals on two of our son's walls when he was little - nothing beautiful like yours, but huge murals of Winnie the Pooh and Piglet and friends. :-)
ReplyDeleteThose are amazing! You've been hiding some serious talent! Love the escapism element, too!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Van!
DeleteMust be wonderful to be so talented! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Not everything is wonderful all the time however.
ReplyDeleteWhat a talent you have. I wish I could paint like that.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful indeed. My son did his first mural in a mall at 16. He did the Wizzard Of Oz. Then it went from there . Senior Art Director to being a father to two sons and doing murals on the boys room and his own closet door ha-ha.
ReplyDeleteI admire peoples talent like yours. Thanks for sharing.
My goodness....how absolutely beautiful!!! You have such a talent for art...in all areas. It takes a creative eye to paint and make it look so real. Very, very nice job Diane!!
