Holly Blue

A few days ago, I spotted a small butterfly flitting around a large mint plant in my garden. You can't see it here unfortunately, but the other sides of its wings are a pale blue which is what caught my attention. My husband grabbed the camera and was able to get these shots. I think the detail is amazing-- click on the images to view them larger.

I had to do a bit of research; it's a Holly Blue butterfly. New to me. Do you have them near you?

Enjoy!

  1. I have only seen one butterfly this year, not including one that was stuck in the grill of the car - this one is a beauty - great shots!!!
