The Peepul Pals Book

Who among you knows about or remembers Peepul Pals? I only do because of this book I've had lo these many years. I never had one of the actual dolls though. The dolls came in a house type box/frame with a matching storybook. This book features some of the dolls. It was published in 1967.

I like the illustrations-- looks very 60s if you ask me.

The simple story is the nurse takes the baby on a plane trip and tells her stories such as Cinderella.

Each page shows a different doll.

I think someone was playing "library" and wrote "10" on the last page. I hate to admit it, but I did that in quite a few books.  Oops.

Thanks for viewing!

Outdoor Fun In 1967

Sears was the place to buy all sorts of outdoor gear, even baseball gloves and basketballs. How about some boats?

Like to water ski?

Golf equipment too-- you could even buy a cart!

Fishing gear...

A nice color spread of some roomy tents.

I had a Spyder bike, but it was a 1970-something model-- a dark turquoisey color with a flower power banana seat, and a white basket on the front with plastic flowers attached.  How cool was that?

Boot style skates and the type that fall off your shoe and drag around your ankles (yes, I am speaking from experience).

Have a fun day!

Wacky Pack Wednesday

Hey, a candy I like! Chunky candy bar. Who remembers the 70s commercials that stated these bars were "thicker-er?" I do.

Thanks for looking!

More Twinchies

I made several more twinchies; remember those are 2" x 2" creations. All of the main images on these are postage stamps.

Wacky Pack Wednesday or She Did It Again

This is getting embarrassing-- I forgot to post a Wacky Pack again yesterday. Sorry, people! So here we are a day late once again...

Swedish Fish, anyone? I'm not a fan but know a lot of folks do like them. They really did originate in Sweden too.

Have a good day!

More Accordion Books

I made a few more accordion books here and there and thought I'd share them today.

This is the reverse of the above book.

Next one...

The back of the above.

 And the last...

Yes, the back.

Thanks for viewing today!  Enjoy!

We Have A Winner

As I was standing in my backyard yesterday, I remembered about drawing a name for the Wacky Pack winner. Looking at all the helicopters (maple seeds) on the ground, I had a silly idea. I wrote each entrant's name on a helicopter.

I dropped them from about three feet to see if only one would land "name side" up. One did-- first try. Pat of Corn In My Coffee Pot. Congrats, Pat!

Thanks again to all concerned and have a happy weekend!

Wacky Pack Answer

Thanks to all who left a comment about Wednesday's mystery Wacky Pack. It was a mystery to me too. I do not remember Stafford's mucilage/glue. Will put the names in a hat and draw a winner. Will post that info tomorrow.

So why a picture of flowers? I couldn't find a picture of Stafford's glue, already showed the Wacky Pack, so have a nice flower pic...

Have a great day!!

Wacky Pack Wednesday Special Edition

Last week, I jokingly said there were no prizes for guessing the Wacky's original product name. A couple people jokingly commented about having prizes so why not? This is about the only Wacky I haven't shown yet that might be a challenge. Know the actual name???
If you have a guess and would like to play along, leave a comment. I will not post them until Friday. Anyone with the right answer will be put in a random drawing for the exquisite prizes below; a Lydia's Post sampler pack. I'll announce the winner on Saturday (the 16th). Have fun!

Enjoy your day!

Yet More Inchies

I might have to change the name of this blog to "Lydia's Inchies" pretty soon. Too bad you can't get rich making these! Here are the latest creations:

The "stuff" on the shell inchie was cut from a potato sack. I thought it might look like netting or some sort of seaweed. Kinda does.

Most of these were made using scrapbook papers.

These, too, are mostly scrapbook papers.
Have a nice, little day!

Pattern Girls Are Back

It's been quite awhile since I used old sewing pattern images for anything other than my weekly album. Mainly because they don't sell for me, but I like them so what the heck? Here are the latest: up first are bookmarks.

And with some smaller images, I made tags.

Hope you like seeing these vintage gals and their vintage styles!

Thanks for looking!

Kid At Heart Finds

The latest finds all happen to be kid friendly-- maybe even more so to us "big kids." Yet another Memory card game. This one is a 1978 version. A Tell-A-Tale book from 1953, The Gingerbread Man. Also a deck of vintage animal Snap cards.

Here is a better look at the cards. They sure don't make graphics like this anymore.

I also found a Little People house by Fisher Price. I have one already I bought used when my daughter was a tot; that one came with some of the furniture and a few people. My daughter played with that quite a lot. This one will be up for sale.

Fun finds-- they kinda make you smile.  Have a nice day!

Weekly Album Update

Time to catch up with my mini weekly album. Easter week is up first. Would you believe I had this bunny/kid image in my stash?

Actually "busy week" and "flew by" seem to come into my conversation a lot these days.

Yes, I wore shorts for the first time this year. Hurray! Seemed like a long time since I dug those out.

A very crafty week which I like.

A new month and National Scrapbook Day. I did participate in some online scrapbook challenges.

Thanks for checking in today and have a good one!
