Monday's Muster #1

Welcome to the first installment of "Monday's Muster." See-- I did think of a better title. Brought to you by little ol' me and a lifetime of collecting. I don't have a ton of collections, and would never qualify as a hoarder (in my opinion), but I do have a lot of different collections-- and remember the general rule is three or more items can make up a collection. Some of them are big, some are not; some of them have value, some do not; some of them are old, some are not; some of them are on display, some are not, but all of them are interesting ;)

First up is little wooden houses. I chose this because it was out as part of my Christmas decor, and will soon be packed away until next December. This set is not too old. I bought it from a mail order company (can't remember which now) about ten years ago. The roof tops are glittered.

The little train is metal and not part of the set. I bought it new about 40 years old.

This set is old, but new to me. I just bought it on Etsy this summer at a very reasonable price. The books in the background are another collection which I'll feature soon.

This set is also about 40 years old and was purchased at the same little shop as the above train. Unfortunately that shop, and the entire mall no longer exists.

So there you have it-- collection number one!  Thanks for taking a peek.

  2. Those little houses are so sweet. Really a shame to pack them away! Looking forward to a post about those books. I love old books!

Our high today is -13 and we've got about two feet of snow on the ground. A good day to stay inside and blog hop!

    Happy New Year!

  4. They are so sweet and a nice collection. I have a few little wooden houses that were my kids...which would make them 40 years old or so. I'll have to see if I can get a photo of them so that you can tell me if they are similar to yours. I'm trying to see all of the books on your bookshelves. That's a nice collection, too! Hugs!
