Tags

I made some new tags recently which I have not done in quite a while. I have been busy with other projects, but I also haven't sold many in months which leads me to a question...

If you're in to paper crafts, what do you think about tag making? Still doing it? Never did it? Think it's passe?

If you're not in to paper crafts, have you ever bought one or received one? Like them? Never gave them much thought?

Just wondering...

Have a nice day out there!

  1. I love tags and use them all the time so I would say they are still in style. And it's fun to do crafts that you enjoy! Hugs!

  2. I take pages from vintage kids books (the books themselves are unsalvageable, torn from binding...ripped pages etc) and I use the pages on pretty scrapbook paper and make homemade bookmarks. I modpodge them and add a yarn tassel. I make tons of them and I include them with my vintage book orders as a thank you....and also to make use of all those pages. (I probably have thousands of papers, I do sell them in lots, but they accumulate faster than I can sell them) They look similar to your tags, but longer. You know, you are pretty crafty, do you have any suggestions for what I can do with all the pages? seriously, thousands...and several book covers too! Hate to toss them because they are lovely!

    1. Don't toss them! Yes, sell them in bundles on Etsy. There are a lot of uses for them besides collage type stuff. People make flowers out of pages, glue to the back of a bookcase (I did that), mod podge wooden boxes, trays, etc. I've seen old covers made into journal/album covers. The covers should sell for you too. Here is just a random link to Pinterest: http://www.pinterest.com/dmcordell/new-uses-for-old-books/

There must be a TON of ideas out there. BTW, your bookmarks sound really nice-- ever show them on your blog?

    2. I have only sold a few lots and they are priced CHEAP! 50 sheets for $3.75....(and I probably shove in 75 sheets in the order) I have not shown them in my blog...I don't feel that I am very crafty. I mean, I think they come out super cute, but I am not confident in my craftiness ability. I am going to search through those pinterest ideas. Thanks!

    3. That is cheap; would think you'd sell a lot. I bet your craftiness ability is fine and dandy. Share it some time! If nothing else, maybe a grade school, etc. would take the pages for art/craft projects.

  4. I love your tags. For some reason I've been missing your blog. I guess I need to sign in again. Sorry about that.

  5. Your tags are always so pretty, Diane - it's a shame they're not selling - it's a pretty big market out there!!

  6. I am in love with tags, make them all the time! They are so versatile; you can use them as gift tags but they are also great to add to collages or mixed media projects. Tag on my friend, those are great!

  7. Tags were hot several years ago and now they seem to be back again. I've made a few and received a few, but never really caught the bug I guess. Maybe because I don't have much use for them and I don't have a good way to display them. I wouldn't base any decisions on my opinion though. I'm always the oddball in the group. lol
