Second ICAD Installemt

Time to catch up with ICAD. This first card is just a strip of scrapbook paper. The design was black and white; I added color with markers.

This one came about because I had cut out the veggie pictures for another project a couple weeks earlier but changed my mind and didn't use them. So I put them to use here. Coincidentally, the prompt for this day was "carrot and lemon."

There's no rhyme or reason to this one; I just wanted to use the scrapbook paper of the houses (on the left). I added some ephemera and drew in some more trees and houses.

The tree image below is a tape transfer of a magazine picture. That gives it the transparent effect. The background is watercolors.

I've had these mushroom images in my stash for years-- I wanted to finally put them to use!

This one qualifies for the "less is more" school of thought or maybe "stop now before you goof it up." I had intended to draw an entire lake scene, but after I did the weedy grasses in front, I decided to quit while I was ahead. The background is watercolors.

Thanks for looking!

  1. These look great!
I love the last one... with the water fowl and the water colors!
In fact... I like how you've gone away from the prompts...
I'm sticking with them... until I hit a road block. Then maybe I'll branch out on my own.
I'm so glad this isn't a competition... I'd have quit already!

  2. Great ICADs! I, too, really like the "less is more" watercolor one. The composition is perfect and all the focus is on the bird and your fabulous weeds.
