Marine Corps Birthday

In honor of the 237th birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps, here are a few patriotic items from around my house:

Windsock; this is the second one we've had; the first blew away during a storm-- we never did find it.

I am a bit biased as my dad, uncle, and husband were Marines, and I have a cousin currently serving.  So thank a Marine, hug a Marine, take a Marine out to dinner.

I am linking to Mockingbird Hill Cottage's "A Favorite Thing" this weekend.  The U.S. Marines should be every U.S. citizens' "favorite thing!"

Semper Fidelis!

  1. How fortunate we are that our fellow Americans will serve our country to keep us all free! Please thank your family for me!

  2. Hi, Diane, Thank you for sharing your patriotic memorabilia with everyone! Yesterday at work my co-worker came in his Marine dress uniform, his shoes so shiny you almost needed sunglasses to admire them! And the proudest part of his day was that his son just finished Marine bootcamp this summer and also works with his dad, so both of them were in dress uniform yesterday--it was a beautiful moment for them and all of us as well!

  3. My dad was in the Marines and did two tours of duty in Vietnam. In fact, that's where he was when I was born. wishing you a wonderful day. Tammy

  4. Perfectly timed for Veteran's Day. Love your patriotic items! My dad was in the Air Force and served in WWII.

Thanks so much for joining in this week!

  5. Great tribute to some great men. I like your military items. We can't thank our service people enough.

  6. God Bless our Marines and all our servicemen and women! :)

  7. Nice tribute to those who have served our country.
Thanks for stopping by and nice comment. Enjoy your weekend.

  8. Nice collection. I especially like the poster. My husband is retired Army : )

  9. Hi Lydia ~ I'm flying the flag this weekend too. Thanks for stopping by.

  10. Very nice tribute. My father and brother were in the Navy, and my father-in-law was career Army.

    Thanks for stopping by today!

    1. Thank you, everyone for the nice comments. I enjoy hearing about the veterans in your families! We owe them so much!
