The Dugout

It sure is a strange world. Follow this: last month Kim at Snug Harbor Bay wrote a post about Norman Rockwell.  See it here.  At the end of the post, she asked readers to comment on their favorite NR painting. I mentioned "The Dugout" from 1948; see below. Being a cubs fan, I've always liked this picture even if it does strike a little too close to home. After reading Kim's article, I looked around on Ebay, thinking of purchasing a print but didn't find the right size or price.

At a moving sale just this Sunday, a whole stack of these prints was for sale at a dollar each. Of course, I bought one. In perfect condition, it's about 12" x 15".

And this was the only thing I bought at the sale. See what I mean? Strange world!

  1. Isn't it fun when that happens!! Good for you. My favorite one is the woman and little boy praying in a restaurant with the young men looking on.
