Monday's Muster #18

A "real" collectible today: head vases. I posted a couple of these before. Here is a post that gives a little background info if you want to read. The four below were all estate and flea market finds. I really lucked out on these as far as price goes.

The two on the left belonged to my grandmother. My aunt had them for awhile then gave them to me about 8 years ago. I could cry over the center one. Notice the broken bow? She has chipped eyelashes too that I touched up with paint so it's not so noticeable. My aunt thinks one of her great-grandkids broke it somewhere along the line and never told her. Crud! The winking girl on the right was the only head vase my mother ever had. It was in our kitchen when I was a kid.

These two were from antique stores that I bought for about ten dollars each some 15 years ago. I'm sure they'd be more today.

This girl I actually found at a thrift store about five years ago. Her earrings are missing and the interior is not too hot; it was really used as a vase apparently, but I still like it.

I keep these out of reach on top of my kitchen cupboards.

I do like them grouped together. When they are washed, the line-up is changed a little.

Thanks for reading!

  1. These are really lovely, you're lucky to have them, I very rarely ever see them but when I do, they're way too expensive!

  2. I don't know that I've ever seen those before and I would have never known they were collectibles.

  3. They are all so beautiful. I have one that I got as a teenager and then one at the thrift store like yours...the solid white one. They look nice altogether! Hugs!

  5. These are all lovely Diane! I just saw 3 of them yesterday at the Flea Market; and you know how they say things cost an ARM and a LEG?! Well-- that's what they wanted for these 3...ARMS AND LEGS!
I agree with Carol- nice that you have your Mom's head (vase, hahaha!)
Of your collection-- I like the gal with the green sweater and bangs. She looks so progressive- even without her earrings!

  6. Love seeing your collection! I have two and think they are the most fun. I'd love to have more but haven't found any in my budget in years. Thanks for showing them.
