What is your favorite Christmas song? So many good ones out there. You can't beat Bing Crosby or "Charlie Brown" music. I don't think I could pick a favorite.
Here is a sampling of the "real" Christmas music, as opposed to MP3s, I have in a variety of formats. I wonder how I escaped the 8-track phase?
Christmas getting a bit overbearing? Give Bob Rivers a listen. Guaranteed smiles, possible chuckles.
And just to prove I'm not a dinosaur (yet), here is a recent playlist on Itunes on my computer.
I'm linking to Mockingbird Hill Cottage this Saturday because Christmas music is a favorite thing of mine-- in December anyway!
Enjoy!
I have lots of favorite Christmas music - I just did a post on this and got some great suggestions for new ones. Some of my favorites are Michael Buble', Dean Martin, and Mariah Carey.
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat collection of Christmas Music...some a Blast from the Past for me, too! I agree, ya can't beat Bing! This is my favorite time of the year for listening to the radio...for all the Christmas music...especially the Oldies. Thanks for visiting CITexas Gal...Happy Holidays!!
ReplyDeleteI remember the old Christmas musical specials on TV too. The Perry Como Show, Andy Williams and his Christmas show, and others. We still watch the old Christmas movie classics.
ReplyDeleteI love this time of year, when Christmas music is played on the radio and TV.

Fun to read your post! Most of my favorite Christmas music comes from King's College Cambridge - especially all the music from the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols. Love it! It's what Christmas is all about. And I like other choral stuff and Jessye Norman and Barbra Streisand and...
ReplyDeleteP.S. I'm your newest follower. I hope you'll stop in at Cranberry Morning and follow back? :-)
I agree... you can't beat Bing... or the graphics on the old album covers and books. :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas CD I have is a Garrison Keillor Lake Woebegone one, just adore it!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
I love the Christmas musicals -- like White Christmas with Bing Crosby, and I remember the Andy Williams music specials on TV, in fact I've enjoyed watching a bit of them on PBS just lately!
ReplyDeleteHowever, I don't think I've ever heard the Chipmunk Song sung by Santa's elves!!
I love "O Holy Night" and "Carol of the Bells" the best. I am quite horrible in that I have a iPhone with no music on it. Visiting form MHC, Olive
ReplyDeleteBing is definitely my favorite, but I love Christmas hymns, too. :)
ReplyDeleteI was at the dentist office the other day and while they worked on my teeth, they had the old favorites playing. It was wonderful hearing Gene Autry, Bing Crosby, and all the other good old stuff. I love Amy Grant's Christmas music too.
ReplyDeleteMe too. I used to have lots of Christmas albums. And so did my folks. Bing Crosby, Johnny Mathis, Andy Williams - I love all of that music. Brings a huge smile to my face. Thanks so much for joining in this week!

We have a local radio station that JUST plays Christmas music. Going in to work the other day I had it on and "Ring Christmas Bells " by Ray Coniff Singers came on. I have to say that is one of my favorites....I remember it from the time that I was a child on...
ReplyDeleteI love my Christmas music, but my boys don't like it. So i just listen on my own. The music does make the season.
ReplyDeleteI recognize the Bing Crosby CD and remember when we had the LP growing up. I love all kinds of Christmas songs -- traditional (Nat King Cole is my fav) -- and today's Country singers.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments! Interesting to read your favorites!
ReplyDeleteI don't listen to Christmas muic. I sing them in church and play the piano. My favourite song is "Zwischen Ochs und Eselein", "Adeste fideles" and "Dona nobis pacem". I like the songs in Latin. Have a week filled with music. Regula
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, there is a bit of Christmas music I do not care for, and certain pop/rock singers need to leave it to the ones that can sing. I have been known to turn the sound off when they are played. :-D
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. Don't know where she got the yarn. Just talked with her, but forgot to ask - she was own her way to grocery shop and meds for children with strep and flu. :(
