The Last of ICAD 2016 (well, technically...)

Here we are-- the last of the ICAD cards for 2016. However, as my title hinted at, I have quite a few "leftovers" that I'll share another day, but these are the last "official" cards. Two more pattern/doodle cards made with markers.

Yep, another mixed media type. The background is a monoprint scrap, and I'm sure you know by now the rest is magazine clippings and a marker border.

This one I goofed around with since I didn't like the initial outcome, but I think I saved it. Magazine clippings, old book images, and craft paint.

Another trendy design-- craft paint, magazine clippings, tape transfer. And I have to say: what is with these models' hair styles???

Yes, more markers! You must admit this one is colorful.

And lastly, I used the first card in the pack with the company name and info printed on it. I just happened to grab it accidentally then thought: why not??

And because you haven't seen enough of these cards in the last two months, stay tuned for my "leftovers." There are a lot this year too!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy August!

ICAD 50-54

ICAD is winding down already! I find that very hard to believe, but then again, July always goes by fast. The first two cards are the ever popular mixed media; magazine clippings and paint.

And the new popular (with me) craft paint and marker doodling.

I don't think I used an old pattern image this year so here you are... A little added paint and marker.

So have you melted yet??? I think most folks near me have. Stay cool out there!

A Non-ICAD Post

I have photographed some pretty flowers lately. Just thought I'd share, and give readers an ICAD break.

Have a nice day!

ICAD 45-49

Back again with the next ICAD installment. My first card is kind of different than the norm; I used fabric along with paint and rubber stamps. I had almost forgotten I had this Nancy Drew fabric. Pretty nifty.

The first time I added some machine stitching to a card. Kind of fun; I would try it again.

I used the "monochromatic" prompt for this card. To be honest, I made it days ahead, but it fit the bill so... Made with markers.

And this one... well, I posted it on Sunday, then remembered that "monochromatic" was the prompt for the 17th. Nuts. So I posted two that day. I don't think anyone will mind.

Most of you will recognize Sally from the old Dick and Jane readers. The background is craft paint and gel pen, plus one scrap of washi tape.

Yes, another pattern card. All markers and a lot of "randomness." I generally make these up as I go.

That's it for this installment! I hope your summer is going well!

ICAD 40-44

ICAD is already in the "40s" now! Wow! Here is my next batch of cards. #40 is a monoprint on an index card (not done real well) and some magazine clippings.

A little similar to the above card, this one is just paint as opposed to a print and magazine clippings on top.

I've been enjoying making these pattern style cards. Just markers on this one as you might have guessed.

The next two cards are my typical magazine clippings collages. This one has a craft paint background and marker designs.

No paint on this one but more marker designs.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend coming up!

ICAD 35-39

More ICAD cards to share today. I have been doing a lot of "doodle" cards lately. Ending the day with a box of markers and just making patterns is quite relaxing. The stripes on this card were made with craft paint.

This is a simple collage/mixed media consisting of card stock, a magazine clipping, book text, and staples. Looks a little Christmasy, doesn't it?

Another floral themed card; this one is magazine clippings, washi tape, ink, craft paint, and a collage sheet image.

Two butterfly cards in a row... This one is magazine clippings, washi tape, and a bright craft paint background.

I started this post with a pattern so I'll end it with a pattern. More markers and a little white gel pen.

I hope you are having a nice summer! Thanks for viewing!

ICAD 31-34

For the First of June and the First of July I have always made cards for ICAD featuring those dates. So since ICAD #31 is actually July 1-- here is my 31st card. Scrapbook paper, sequins, marker.

This card is rather simple but sometimes that's all a design needs. The chic woman and estate photo are from an old magazine. I added the "swirls" with craft paint.

Obviously a collage-y type card. This one uses old pattern tissue, magazine and book clippings, and the "stitching" at the bottom was made with a marker. Oh yeah-- watercolor background.

A rather patriotic looking collage for the 4th of July. I didn't really have that in mind when I started. I built it around the gym shoes. Mostly magazine clippings--that little flourish strip is scrapbook paper.

Happy 4th of July, everyone! Be careful out there!
