Remember the three McCall's Needlework and Crafts magazines I bought at a recent estate sale? I'm sharing one of those today. This is the Fall-Winter 1963-64 issue. Pretty mod (and worn) cover. How about that tiger faux fur jumper??
Some tres chic ladies
You and your poodle can have matching sweaters!
Very popular color back then.
When was the last time you saw someone using a muff?
Here is that olive-y color once again.
These magazines had a lot of kid themed crafts. You could make Raggedy Ann and Andy in different sizes. Cute photo.
Most of these issues had Barbie fashions too. Pay special attention to the dress in the lower left...
How about this? My mother made this doll dress for me in the early 70s. I think that lavender dress above is the same pattern. Small world (no pun intended)!
Thanks for looking back with me. Have a nice day!
This was the magazine that caught my eye in your bookish estate sales post, very cool! Love the matching dog coats (hilarious!) and I kind of like that olive colour, wouldn't mind if it made a comeback. The rest of it can stay in the 60's though LOL! My Mom made Barbie doll clothes for me as well, how patient did they have to be to knit and sew all of those teeny, tiny outfits?! Now that is true love :O)
ReplyDeleteI remember the patterns but not the magazines..Maybe it was because I didn't sew?
ReplyDeleteDid the patterns come in the book or were they for sale in an ad? The doll clothes look adorable...especially your little dress! Hugs!
