Wacky Pack Wednesday

Since we just passed Father's Day, here's a timely Wacky Pack. One of my older stickers, you probably recognize it.

Sugar Daddy candy, right? They go back to 1925. Wow.

Hope your day isn't too daffy!

Men Only SPA

My post title might be a bit misleading. The theme this week at Sunday Postcard Art is "Men Only." I knew I had a few guys in my stash of sewing pattern images. These three came from the same pattern if I recall correctly. Since they total three I thought of the old TV show The Dating Game although I don't really know why. I only watched that show a couple of times. So here is a somewhat silly submission for SPA this week.

Have a fun day!

Monday's Muster #23

Here we are, the last Barbie installment. These are all newer Barbies that I never took out of the box. Not that I'm a "mint in the box" type of person,  I just like the packaging and I have no intention of playing with them at my age. And just for the record, I bought these pretty inexpensively on sale. Doesn't seem like that happens much today.

This is the back of the box.

Kind of hard to see, but like in the book/movie, Alice in Wonderland, there is a flamingo croquet mallet and a hedgehog ball.

Remember the Carol Burnett version of Gone with The Wind?

Or the I Love Lucy episode, featuring "Paris fashions?"

Here we have Skipper as Velma from "Scooby Doo."

Complete with Scooby and Scooby Snacks.

I really wanted this doll when it came out because I have one of the original Stacey dolls (see it here), but I didn't want to spend the money on it. Lo and behold, I found it on sale several months later.

Now you can see the pretty coat and blue stockings that I no longer have. If you look at my doll, there are a few differences. The color blocks of her swimsuit and her face is a little different.  Wonder why they changed it?

No, this is not a Barbie, but it's a MIB doll so I thought I'd include it.

Thanks for viewing all the Barbie posts!  Have a good day!

Second Week of ICAD

Index Card A Day (ICAD) is in its second week. If you don't know what in the world I'm talking about, read my post here or visit official ICAD info here. Below are the cards I made this week.

I followed the prompt "Yellow" for this one, using snippets from a 1970s magazine.

Doodling with markers.

I came across the black and white illustration in my stash (from a vintage magazine) and decided to put it to use.

More vintage pattern goodness.

The prompt for this card was "Toy Camera." How about scrapbook paper camera?

June 12th was my daughter's birthday so I had to commemorate that epic event.

This prompt was "Book Review." I scanned the cover of one of my favorite "chapter books," as they say today, from when I was a kid. The text is from the book, typed on an "old" electronic typewriter from the 1990s.

I had to honor Flag Day which it is today.

So Happy Flag Day. Wave it proudly!!

A Few Finds

The thrift stores were none too bountiful this week, but I found a few things of interest.  How about some old postcards? Quite a variety. From The Spanish Riding School to water skiing in the 50s.

A couple heart tin molds, a 70s lucite spoon rest, also a 70s house plant book which had the house plant pamphlet tucked inside.

Four small Melmac (love that word) bowls and toddler type barrettes.  My hair took so long to come in when I was a tot that my mom taped a bow to my head a couple of times just to be funny. I made up for it in the 70s with long, straight hair (that my mother didn't care for too much; maybe I was getting back at her for the taped bows).

Thanks for stopping by!

Barbie's Pink Dress and Genuine Generosity

When I posted my Barbie clothes recently (see it here), Jill from A Little Bit of Everything commented she thought she had the same pink dress for her Barbie. So we decided to post them and make a comparison. Mine was crocheted by my mom. I always liked the way it fit the dolls so well.

Pop over to Jill's and take a look.  Sure is a small world!

And speaking of Jill and the rest of my post title: genuine generosity, she posted some thrift finds recently (see the post here) and offered some of the playing cards to me as she knows I collect cards and also use them in paper crafting. What a pal! She wouldn't even let me pay for postage. That sort of thoughtfulness is hard to find nowadays.

Aren't they fun?

She also sent the cutest, funkiest owl note card.
 Thank you, Jill!

Have a nice day, everyone!
