Vintage Sewing Patterns

Some of you know I use vintage sewing patterns in my paper crafts on occasion. I recently bought a "lot" of just the envelopes and thought I'd share a few.

Like the note on the one on the left-- "good pants." My sister used to make notes like that on patterns.

Versatile scarf on the left. The pattern on the right has an unusually large illustration.

I had a couple smock tops. One of mine was pretty similar to the green and orange number below, but mine was blue patchwork fabric with blue trim.

Kind of glad those looooong vests went out of style.

Wide enough for ya?

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I always love going thru old patterns when I see them at yard sales. They bring back memories of my mom sitting in her sewing room making us clothes in the 60's and 70's. I'm always on the look-out for an apron one for my friend Dolly.

My mom made us several smock tops in the 70's. I loved those and had completely forgotten about them until you mentioned them. It would be kind of fun to make and wear one now.

  3. I have many of my mother's old patterns from my teenage years. These look quite familiar ... including the notes written.

    Love your collection.

    1. Thanks for the comment. My mother sewed a ton of clothes in the 60s and 70s-- wish I had those patterns!

  4. Interesting patterns. Those pants legs would take a lot of material that's for sure. Have a good evening. We are about to get some storms.

  6. I recognize some of these patterns. The 'good pants' pattern and the versatile scarf...I have a box of my Granny's patterns.
I have no idea why I've kept them...but I do like the pictures.
