Monday's Muster #31

A not too big collection today: sheep! I think these were all handmade and are pretty old by now. I had one more white one that my dog, Rhody, got a hold of as a puppy... The black sheep I picked up at an antique store about 20 years ago. I have no idea how old it was then. The littlest one my mother bought for me from a craft fair about 25-30 years ago (boy, time marches on).

These two have real sheep's wool on them. The one in the back is from New Zealand. It was given to my grandmother from a friend who went there in the mid 80s. The one in front I bought at a gift shop in Michigan, again some 15-20 years ago.

You're right-- these are rabbits, not sheep, but they are made from sheep's wool. I picked up both of them for under ten bucks many years ago at a Marshall Field's clearance sale. Rhody also got ahold of the little one and stretched its ears-- I sort of glued them back into place. Looks okay.

Cute little critters. Just keep them out of Rhody's reach!

Have a good day!

  3. Oh wow! these are cute.
If you ever needed some pocket change...I bet these would sell in a heart beat.
Not saying you should sell them--but just pointing out that sheep and sheep's wool type products are pretty popular right now.
    have a great day!

--I'm working to get the comment issue for my mobile repaired. Not sure how great that will be. ;/
