I mentioned last year that a friend of mine gave me some poppies from her yard when I moved into my house. Well, I'm still here and so are the poppies-- doing well as usual.
This week went by fast for me; how about you? Happy Friday!
Beautiful! I absolutely love oriental poppies. Grandpa used to tire of them and I would find him mowing them down with the lawn mower! I, on the other hand, can't seem to keep poppies alive. So sad. I'd love to have them in my flower bed.
I so love poppies, especially red ones... a gentleman we know grows the most beautiful red poppies in between his veggies and he gave me some seeds, I planted them but no luck, however, I am not sure and could have made the mistake of pulling them out as weeds because they are biennials... I must try again some time! ...and yes, the week has gone by way too fast! Cheers~
The poppies always amaze me, there they are starting to leaf out when the snow is barely off the ground and their beautiful, papery flowers are one of the first to appear in the garden. Lovely pictures Diane and yep, this week (and month!) flew by, it's going to be June before we know it! Deb
I've never grown poppies and I've heard it's not possible as far south as we are, so I'm really enjoying your beautiful ones. You must have "the touch" for poppies!
