I made this ATC for the current challenge at Think Monday Think ATC. The theme is "Fashion." Lots of directions to go with that. I thought of making your own creations and sewing. It is fun to pick out a pattern and fabric. Although I haven't sewn for a long time, in my younger days, I made a lot of my own clothes (when it was economical to sew!).
All the elements here are from a couple 70s sewing patterns. The larger image was from the black and white instructions; I colored the outfit with good ol' markers.
Have a fun day!
Love your fashion ATC! I still sew a bit when I can get my old machine to work. I'm the worst about getting the tension right. And you're right about sewing not being as economical as it was. I only buy patterns when they're 5 for $10 at the fabric shop. I can't believe some patterns are almost $20.00. Of course, fabric is expensive too. Instead of feeling virtuous about saving money by sewing, I think I'd better switch my thinking toward "sewing is creative!" to justify my material stash!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! I love these and it's a nice way to remember back with a ATC card!
ReplyDeletegreat ATC, thanks for sharing at TMTA
ReplyDeleteIt was definitely more economical to sew our clothes back when this pattern was made. Love your ATC.
