Books and a Troll

If you are not into collage, you probably won't see the beauty in my recent thrift finds. If you're like me, however, you would love to get your hands on vintage text books and a 1970s Sears reprint catalog.

Of course, I couldn't forget my daughter, right?

Let's peek into that 1900 Sears catalog. A lot of cool stuff in there!

I'm sure you ladies will agree with me when I say I'm awfully glad corsets went out of style.

And, yes, here is the "troll" part of my title. I know nothing about these troll dolls and stated that fact in my Etsy description. This guy sold in about 4 hours. I think that is a record for my shop. Either I priced him low or they are more popular than I realized-- probably both. Think I'll ever come across another one now? Probably not!

Enjoy your day!

Yep, Some More Inchies

Yes, I am still making inchies. Here's the latest. This first group is a mix of old and new materials.

These four are a bit of a cheat as the images were cut from a piece of scrapbook paper which just happened to have 1" x 1" designs.

Mostly vintage paper here. The spiderweb is an old dictionary illustration of a cobweb. I added the spider and words with a marker.

I tried something a little different on these. Ink pads, rubber stamps, and a little marker. Some turned out better than others. I don't have many rubber stamps, however, and some of these belong to my daughter. They are rather interesting-- and pretty quick to make which is a definite plus.

Thanks as always for looking!  Enjoy!

Wacky Pack Wednesday

Who among you remembers "It's two, two, two mints in one?" I do. That was the 1960s and 70s commercial slogan for Certs.

Enjoy your day!

Some Projects

Here are some recent projects I made: bookmarks made with inchies (are we all sick to death of that word? I'm not, tee hee...)

Two pages in my "Random" Smash Book. The cat image and the houses image below were cut from scrapbook papers. I wanted to make something for myself with each, but what?? So I stuck them here and added some other papers, washi tape, markers, etc.

Just collages, not note cards or anything; just pictures. These are 5" x 4".

Have a good day out there!

TH Tag Oct

Yes, a new month means a new Tim Holtz tag, and yes, it means Diane sort of followed her own ideas once again. What can I say? Tim's tag features a zombie. I'm more old-fashioned-- I prefer the cuter side of Halloween as you can see in my ATC and inchie. I tried to use Tim's color scheme-- do I get any points for that???

Points or not, I do like the way these turned out.

So follow your own drummer today-- you have my permission!

I Have a Turtle

Today we're peeking at a favorite childhood book of mine, I Have a Turtle. This cute, little volume was published in 1966.

It is a very simple story with very simple illustrations, but it kids love it (me being one of them!). There is a bit more to it than I am showing, but this is the gist of it.

When my mother read this book out loud, she always read this last page in a whisper, like she was telling a secret.  What fun for toddlers!

Thanks for looking!  Enjoy!
