TT/Baking

I run the risk of wining the "I hope you didn't go to too much trouble" award this week at Tag Tuesday.  The theme is "baking."  When I thought to use a brownie mix box as the base of my tag. I intended to add a recipe, pictures of baking dishes, etc. However, after I cut out the tag, I thought it had such graphic appeal that I decided to leave well enough alone.  You know, part of being an artist is knowing when to stop!

Recipe For Design

There are a lot of cool, old recipe boxes out there.  Here are three that brighten up my house.  The floral one with the blue top has been mine since it was new.  I even wrote my name, very big, on the lid top which I've tried to remove.  No luck.  The other two I picked up cheap at a garage sale and thrift store.

They're fun and useful.  Hope I find some more!

Poppies

When I bought my house, a very generous friend of mine gave me several plants from her own yard.  Poppies were one of her gifts.  They do great every year!

New Boarders

I didn't advertise for any boarders, but a couple moved in recently.  This robin's nest was assembled in about 24 hours!

Hope they are happy-- and don't disrupt my electric service!

TT/Sewing

The theme this week at Tag Tuesday is "sewing."  From making tags and cards with the illustrations on sewing pattern envelopes, I have a stash of pattern instructions and pieces.  "Sew" I used that for my tag.  I sewed on a couple of buttons and glued on the front and back of an old snap.
