Monday's Muster #13

Last April I shared my fairly big collection of vintage dog statues. I'm not adding a link because it spanned over several days (if you want to see it, check the April 2013 archives on the right). Anyway, every blue moon or so I put a few away and bring out a few different ones. After Christmas last year I did just that. So here are the "new" ones on display around the house.  All of these were my mother's from the 50s.

My sister and I always used to laugh at how tacky this guy is, but my daughter was going through the dog box with me and liked it. It's on her bedroom shelf now. Pretty unique whether you like it or not.

The one with the tam on the left has that "spaghetti" technique on its ears and paws. Cool, but a pain to dust. I always liked the terrier.

Too cute Spaniel (you think?) with a bow and a blown-glass example on the right. There are a couple other glass ones in the collection too, but I just pulled out the blue one for now.

So you are now up to speed with the dog collection. That's a load off your mind, right?

In other news... Today is the Cubs' season opener in Pittsburgh. As you can see, the grass in my yard looks anything but green, and when the Cubs' return home on Friday for their home opener, weathermen are predicting rain and mid-40s. Yea. The boys of summer might turn a little blue.

Enjoy your Monday!

It's a beautiful day for it. Mild temps...
your little dogs remind me of things I've seen around my grandmothers and aunts homes...growing up. They are all unique and cute at the same time.
What's not to love about a little dog, right?
and yes, my mind is at ease now having seen them. :)

take care and have a great day.
