Once again I'm posting a not especially rare flower, but I haven't grown sunflowers in a heckuva long time. They are doing pretty well. I started them indoors early in the spring. From past experience I know squirrels like to dig up planted seeds.
This one was not completely open yet. Kind of interesting.
Completely unopen, this one was really interesting.
So there you have it: another common flower in my yard.
Go have an uncommon day!
One of my fav flowers. Beautiful Takes. Our neighbours were saying the last months are no squirrels or chipppys around. I noticed that also.
ReplyDeleteWe had squirrels all the time. Maybe the foxes and other gritters have killed them. It just seems wird.
Your sunflowers are lovely in every stage, Diane. Is there anything squirrels don’t eat? Thanks for the uncommon day wish ~ love it!
ReplyDeleteI don't know why I never plant sunflowers. They're so beautiful! And I always think it would be nice to put a net over the head and collect the seeds as they ripen and fall. Happy winter birdies.
ReplyDeleteI love sunflowers but always forget to plant them early enough so they will have time to bloom up here. Thanks for the pics, they will be my virtual sunflowers this year!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sunflower pictures. Tara is having sunflowers as her bouquet and the shower was decorated all over with sunflowers....they are beautiful. Loved seeing them in different stages.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE sunflowers, and sure did enjoy seeing these pics!
ReplyDeleteLovely pics - sunflowers are so cheery and bright!
